The Golf R has always been a serious performance car that stands out in plain sight. Under the hood of the new 5th generation Golf R is a 2.0-liter turbocharged TSI engine with 315 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Power is confidently transmitted to the ground by a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
Drivers can choose between a conventional 6-speed manual transmission and the faster-than-lightning 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission. The car's enhanced Vehicle Dynamics Manager (VDM) is the performance conductor, precisely managing the behavior of the powertrain, 4MOTION system, steering, Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adaptive dampers, and more. Two new modes are on the menu; - Special (Nürburgring) and Drift - bring a new level of personalization to the experience.
